This is sure to be one of the best releases of 2006. About the Artist Individually, both these emcees have earned the respect of underground and commercial heads and critics around the globe. "When I was a student at Fresno state, I saw this guy rapping at parties," Keida Brewer, aka Rasco, of how he first met Planet Asia. "We just started writing rhymes together and the chemistry was cool," he adds. So in 1997, when Rasco was recording his debut record Time Waits for No Man (Stones Throw), it was a given that he would ask his partner to appear. The record became an instant underground classic and was also lauded by The Source one of the Best Independent albums that year. The single they recorded together, "Take it Back Home," was one of 1998's biggest underground hit singles. The video received regular rotation on BET and on Yo! MTV Raps. Since his impressive debut record, Rasco has released an EP "The Birth" (Copasetik) as well as the 2001 LP Hostile Environment (Copasetik). In 1999, Rasco made his move into the business and A&R side of the ! industry when he started his own record label, Pockets Linted. Fresno born Jason Greene, aka Planet Asia, has earned accolades of his own and is considered one of the premier emcees on the West Coast. 1999 marked the year in which he was awarded the prestigious GOLDIE by the San Francisco Bay Guardian and was included in URB magazine's "Next 100" issue. Planet Asia has been featured and acclaimed in the likes of XXL, URB, VIBE, Blaze, and Stress to name just a few. In addition to contributing to Rasco's Time waits for No Man, Planet Asia released a self-titled EP (Heratik Records), has appeared on Peanut Butter Wolf's My Vinyl Weighs a Ton (Stones Throw), Sway And King Tech's Wake Up Show Freestyles Vol. 5 (880), Laid In Full (Blackberry), and Bahamadia's BB Queen EP (Goodvibe). He ís now working on his forthcoming debut LP which will be released through Interscope Records.
