I assumed this would be kind of slow. But this is just not worth it. I suppose I could use it to melt the ice powder after scraping things off - just to eliminate any slipperyness. But salt would be just as effective in adding some grip at that point. It's very rudimentary. There doesn't appear to be a way to attach the gas canister without leaking a bunch of gas all over the place. Nearly froze my fingers when all that gas escaped right onto my fingers. It also doesn't self light. So that's really clunky. You have to turn it on - expelling lots of gas - then quickly, awkwardly try to light the business end which is far away from the natural grips. I think this would have better use just torching weeds that grow up in the cracks of my sidewalk.
