This is justly regarded as a classic World War 2 film, with a great story and a strong cast. Mills and Andrews are uniformly excellent, Quayle does a pretty fair Afrikaans accent, and Syms is lovely. Peter Arne has a great cameo as an SAS or LRDG man, too. My only quibbles are that the spy’s secret transmitter has no visible power source (and he’d need a substantial one to transmit over any distance), and the sand dune ascent as depicted defies physics. These are minor issues that don’t really detract from the film.
