This is a great product. Looks exactly like Ice and is very sturdy. The only issue is there would be no way to sharpen it to open letters well, but as a display it is amazing. I bought a cheaper version of Longclaw and you can tell a big difference in quality as this one is far superior.# Ice great sword replica by The Noble Collection. Ice is a Valyrian steel great sword held by house Stark for generations. I say this is a sword replica because like others have stated it isn't really sharp at all, it really won't open letter ever efficiently. However the sword is fairly nice quality, not top of the line but good. The paint job has a few flaws and nicks here and there. I've taken some pictures of it next to some Art Gladius swords to compare. The sword itself has a plastic hilt and metal pommel, the edges aren't sharp at all however the piercing part is fairly sharp. The fit of the pommel is tight and doesn't wobble at all on my model. Size wise it's not quite to scale as the Longclaw version of the sword is slightly larger, that's kind of a bummer as Ice is suppose to be a great sword and quite big.I like the weight of the great sword and how it looks, the quality could be a little better though and the edges sharper. I would most likely purchase again though.It gets the job done, opens the mails pretty easily without being dangerously sharp. My complain would be some part of the blades is not well finished and the wooden paint on the handle wears off in just a few weeks.The price is a little high, but it is a very nice piece! I wanted a sword, without skulls, when in a stand could symbolize a cross, could be sharpened, AND used as a letter opener! Well, this IT!!! Sturdy, functional, and you can put an edge on it! You do have to sharpen it yourself-whhaaa! That's half the fun! The stand Amazon recommends is great too-see the pic!My wife was saying how she needed a letter opener and I knew she is a fan of Game of Thrones. It was nice to see her smile upon my surprising her with this gift. It's not a sharp blade, but then letter openers aren't supposed to be. It does the job.Dang! This is a cool mini sword! I must admit I have no intention of using it to open mail... I have an exacto for that. This was ordered simply for a doll to have strapped to her back to look awesome! It was an instant success!! Very happy.I love using this to open my junk mail before shredding it. Killing envelopes and feeding it's remains to the shredder seems pretty legit with this thing. Anyways, the downside is that it's not all that sharp. It has heft and size, 24 cm long, and seems to be well put together.I imagine the price includes a premium for use of the name and so on but I'm happy with the product as it is stylish and more robust than other 'design' openers I've seen and used.Like another previous reviewer, I purchased this not as a letter opener but to supplement my Threezero Ned Stark figure. As such, it's great addition, being perfectly in scale and as its made of metal, nice and weighty. At £25, it's a bit overpriced (£15 would be about right) but it's nicely made and serves the purpose well for which I bought it.I do love it. But £25? I mean I spent the money and bought the thing and I love it but that's a little excessive. The pommel isn't put on perfectly but the whole thing is a lot bigger than I expected (from pommel to point is 24.5 cm). Either way I love it but it still loses a star because of price and imperfect pommel (ever so slightly wonky).Absolutely beautiful and well crafted opener and one which everybody admires. The detail work is excellent with brass hilt, brown leather drop and steel blade with ends of the cross finished in brass. Really adds to my writing desk and actually looks antique. Delighted!great quality item with a good weight I highly recommend this as a letter opener,good detail too.
