This product is great for avoiding falls and slips on the ice.I put them on when I leave the house, and then I take them offas soon as I enter the building at work, so I'm not sure ifthey hurt floors or hard surfaces that are not covered with snowor ice. Some reviews indicated that the spikes scratch the floor. This sounds pretty bone-headed to me. I mean would you wearshoes with golf spikes anywhere other than on grass? Sowhy would someone wear spiked grippers for ice on linoleum?I have a small foot - women's size 5. I purchased a similarproduct by another brand a few years ago, and I found it verydifficult to get a "small / medium" on my foot. I found itespecially difficult to take them off once my shoes were coldfrom the snow and ice. So, for this purchase, I bought alarge for my size 5 foot, and they work great. I have notrouble putting them on or taking them off. The backeven has a little handle to help take them off easily.Even though my foot is small, I have never had a problemwith these grippers falling off. I read other reviewsbefore purchasing, and some said that there were not as manygrippers on the bottom as illustrated in the photo. The pairof grippers that I received were exactly as illustrated.I find this product very effective and very easy to use.Great value for the price.I bought these as an alternative to Yaktrax, they stay on my foot well im a size 9 womens and I bought a medium, I could probably fit a large but I wanted a snug fit.the ice cleat pieces are little metal nubs about 1/8 in if you count the plastic they are mounted in, still with the placement on my foot they held up on thick ice around my apartment building. I would not run on ice in them though, not that sturdy. I do run in mud on them I add them to my trail running sneakers. They work great for that! They just ok in the snow to grip on trails, of course they are not made for deep snow so I cannot complain there, however they doo provide some traction in the snow. I wear them hiking on trails in a couple of inches and can still hike at a pace of 3mph. Overall I am pleased with this product for the price.I wasn't expecting these to be great but so far I'm satisfied. I bought and liked the Stabilicers Lites, they had great grip, but they suffer from same problem as Yak Traks; they won't stay on the shoe and come off on crust or trails. I think manufacturers want you to lose foot grips the way most are designed. That's why I'm giving a thumbs up to the DryGuy GripOns, they actually stay on because they have an over the toe design and the rear straps rides high onto the shoe. I'm wearing these on some Acton Canadian Snow boots and so far so good. The rubber material is wide and flat and I think this is part of the reason they are staying on. I believe these were actually less expensive than the Stabilicers that I won't buy again. These work very well for walking during icy and snowy conditions. Look carefully at the size of your shoes or boots before ordering. On my big, clunky boots I ordered a size 2-times larger than recommended and I am glad because I don't have to stretch the rubber so much that my hands hurt. For sneakers or dress shoes you can probably order the size recommended. But even for my athletic shoes that have a larger sole, I ordered one size larger than recommended. Make sure you dry off the spikes and rubber after use so nothing will corrode. I wouldn't use these on a glacier, but for icy sidewalks & streets they are great. They do seem pricey (vs a local chain's offering, though the chain store's stock did not actually arrive so maybe that's unfair), and VERY challenging to fit over my shoes (a really snug fit), else they're an excellent safety concept for those days when sidewalks and roads have icey patches (and the temperature's not too far below freezing, when it's too cold they'll not grip well at all on ice). [Anticipating infrequent use, I've stored them in a couple of plastic bags so their rubbery compound should last much longer.]Icy, hilly, private road + large dog who wants/needs to get out for walks = disaster ... until these arrived! I ordered them hoping for the best since our road is an icy slope, but was a bit dubious about what a few metal nubs would do on ice... I can't believe how much of a difference these have made - excellent traction on solid ice. I will leave these on my hiking boots by the door until the ice is gone (may be a while). I wear a size 9.5 ladies and ordered a large. They fit perfectly. They have saved my middle-aged self from slipping and falling! Don't hesitate - these are terrific!I originally rated these at five stars but am now revising the rating to two stars. After using them the third time two of the cleats on one came off and were lost and one cleat on the second pair did too. They are just slipped into the rubber like a button goes through a buttonhole and cam come out very easily, as they did. My advice is to buy the Stabilicers also sold on Amazon. The cleats on those do not come out because they are molded in and they have more cleats. I bought the Stabilicers for myself and then decided to by two more pairs for my wife and son They were out of those sizes so I bought these. I thought they were good when I received them, but now that my wife lost two cleats and my son lost one, so early in their useful life, I can see they are made cheaply compared to the Sabilicers. My suggestion is DON'T BUY THESE! BUT DO BUY THE STABILICERS. Believe me you will not slip or slide on ice with them. I love the Stabilicers.J'ai reçu le produit rapidement. Entièrement en caoutchouc donc aucun velcro. Se glisse sur la pointe de la botte et le talon. Fonctionne très bien. J'aime le produit.I bought the XL to fit on my size 14 winter boots and they fit just fine. They are lightweight and I keep them in my daypack on hikes and pull them out when I need them. Good value and time will tell how long they will last.Works good . Falls off heal sometimes. Size large a tight fit for size12shoe. But overall great choice maybe different brand next timegood grips havent slipped since i put them on my bootsThese GOL GripOns was not 100% as described as on Amazon when I received them. More like 90%. They are a "copy" of the DryGuy Gripons but well-made. Fit seamlessly on my boots. No complaints.
