I bought this to help keep us cool and comfortable at night and it does the job. Despite the house having central A/C, the back rooms get hot at night and a fan wasn’t cutting it during these Oklahoma summers. I chose this one because it has a large reservoir with a water level indicator, it can run almost constantly, and it has the ‘swing’ function that helps to circulate the air. This is essentially a swamp cooler, not an air conditioner. You fill it with water - the colder, the better - and place the provided ice packs in the top. It then pumps the water from the reservoir up to the top where the ice packs cool the water and then the water runs down a pad at the back where air is drawn through it by the fan - which is pretty quiet compared to our regular fans. Water that is not evaporated drips back down into the reservoir - you can hear it trickle, but that doesn’t bother us. It can be used as just a fan without the water evaporation and the fan level can also be adjusted. Definitely worth it in my opinion; would purchase again.
