This scoop is a great addition to my home bar. It's unique. I made about 30 cocktails the first night I had this. No complaints. I've tried other brands that were too shallow, made from flimsy aluminum or worthless plastic, had oddly short and uncomfortable handles, or just didn't do a great job of moving adequate amounts of ice from the freezer into my glass.This is made of a lightweight stainless steel so I know it's dishwasher safe and will be easy to maintain. The handle is not particularly ergonomic or contoured in any way, but it's long enough to get the leverage needed to bust chunks of ice easily without hand fatigue. My only concern about the handle is the way it's attached to the scoop. It appears to be a circle of bent flanges that are probably welded. It has the potential to be a weak point, but that remains to be seen.The absolute best aspect of the scoop is that a single scoop puts a perfect amount of ice into a Boston shaker cup to mix a cocktail. The high rounded sides prevent the ice from slipping out. Also, the rounded shape fits inside pint glasses and shakers very nicely. Not so with flat or shallow scoops. I tossed out the other scoops and have since purchased a second one for the kitchen.
